“I can feel scared… and I can still handle this.”

"I was terrified that anxiety was going to keep making my child's world smaller and smaller. I thought helping meant making everything feel safe. Once I understood the pattern, I started seeing things differently. My child still gets nervous — but now I’m watching them try things they used to avoid. Hearing, ‘I think I can do it,’ has changed everything."
— David, dad of three

"I didn't realize how much of my day was spent managing anxiety — reassuring, negotiating, changing plans, and wondering if I was helping or making things worse. I was constantly second-guessing myself. Now I understand what I'm looking for, I know where to start and how to respond, and I feel so much steadier. My child doesn't have to be perfectly calm for me to know we're moving in the right direction."

Does Your Home Feel Like This Right Now?

The morning stomachache that disappears once you let them stay home

The two-hour bedtime filled with one more hug, one more check, one more question

“What if…?” asked again and again even after you’ve already answered

A child who needs everything exactly right — the plan, the routine, the food, the wording

The after-school explosion over a shoe, snack, homework mistake, or tiny change

A child who won’t try, won’t go, won’t answer, or won’t separate from you

You feel guilty — like you're somehow causing it or not doing enough to fix it

You constantly wondering:
Am I helping them feel safe — or making them believe they can’t handle this without me?
Same cycle. Different worry. Same pattern.
And none of this means you haven’t tried hard enough.
In fact, you may be exhausted because you’ve been trying so hard.
Anxiety doesn't happen randomly. It happens in patterns. And patterns can change.
“What if I can’t?”
“Will you make it okay for me?”
“Can I do this even when I’m scared?”
“Can I trust myself when you’re not there?”
WHAT'S KEEPING YOU STUCK
Belief #1: "I've tried everything. Nothing works for more than a day."
Tips and tricks fail because they address the behavior, not the pattern underneath it
Without a framework, every fight feels like a new problem — and you're always reacting
This course gives you the framework, not a list of techniques — so you know what to do in any situation
Belief #2: “This is just who my child is.”
Maybe you’ve heard: “She’s just shy.”
“He’s always been particular.”
“She’s a perfectionist.”
“He’s stubborn.”
“She’s dramatic.”
“He’s just an angry kid.”
Sometimes those descriptions may fit. But anxiety doesn’t always look like fear.
Sometimes the behavior is what you can see…while the worry cycle is what’s driving it.
Belief #3: “They’ll probably grow out of it. Maybe I just need to give it time.”
Some childhood fears absolutely do pass.
But when fear begins deciding where your child goes, what they try, how they sleep, who they talk to, or what your whole family has to change…
we want to pay attention to the pattern, not simply wait for the feeling to disappear.
Time passing is not the same thing as confidence being practiced.
CALM ISN’T THE GOAL. CONFIDENCE IS.
WHAT'S POSSIBLE
Imagine This Being Your Normal...

✓ Bedtime still has worry — but it no longer consumes the entire evening
✓Your child tries something new without needing you to make it feel safe first
✓ A hard moment happens — and they recover without the whole day unraveling
✓ They go to school, practice, the party, or the sleepover even while feeling nervous
✓ They ask for reassurance once instead of twenty times
✓ Perfectionism begins to soften
✓ You stop rehearsing every possible problem before leaving the house
✓ Your child starts saying: “I think I can handle it.”
✓ You’re not managing anxiety all day
✓ You get your energy — and more of your family life — back
"After I learned how to interrupt the worry cycle, my child started trying things they used to avoid. The anxiety hasn’t disappeared — but now I see them discovering, ‘I can handle this.’"
- Mom of an anxious child
INTRODUCING
Break the Worry Cycle and Build Confidence That Lasts
An 5-Week Course + Live Coaching for Parents Who Want More Family Joy and Life

Proud Parents, Confident Kids gives you a complete framework — not a list of tips — for understanding what's actually driving the anxiety cycle for your child, and how to shift it at the root.
Step 1 — See the Worry Cycle
Recognize where anxiety is actually making the decisions in your home — and identify the ONE pattern to start with.
Step 2 — Support Without Feeding the Fear
Help your child discover they can handle hard feelings — instead of needing you to make them disappear.
Step 3 — Know What to Say and Do
Respond differently in the real moment — what to say, what to change first, and how to move forward when anxiety pushes back.
Step 4 — Build Confidence That Carries Into Life
Help your child increasingly able to move through school, friendships, independence, and life without anxiety making the decisions.
Calm isn't the goal. Confidence is.
THE COURSE FRAMEWORK
Where Anxiety Starts Running the Show
4 Ways the Worry Cycle Can Hide in Your Home
Pattern 1: AVOIDANCE- “When escaping feels like success”
Your child won’t go, won’t try, wants to stay home, or suddenly has a stomachache when something feels hard
Each escape brings immediate relief — and the brain starts learning, “Avoiding is what keeps me safe”
You’ll learn: How to recognize the avoidance cycle, know when to support versus step back, and help your child take manageable steps toward, “I was scared — and I did it.”
Pattern 2: CONTROL — “When certainty becomes the only way to feel safe”
Your child needs the plan exactly right, asks the same questions repeatedly, struggles with changes, or melts down when things aren’t perfect
The more everyone rearranges life to create certainty, the more certainty they need to feel okay
You’ll learn: How to respond to the need for control without getting pulled into endless reassurance or negotiation — while helping your child become more flexible with uncertainty
Pattern 3: BIG BEHAVIOR/AGGRESSION — “When fear comes out sideways”
Your child yells, refuses, argues, shuts down, or explodes over things that seem far too small for the reaction
Everyone focuses on stopping the behavior — while the fear underneath can keep driving the same pattern
You’ll learn: How to recognize when anxiety may be underneath the behavior, respond without treating fear like defiance, and support confidence without giving anxiety control of the moment
Pattern 4: DEPENDENCE — “When ‘I need you’ becomes the way they feel safe”
Your child needs you beside them, needs you to answer for them, asks you to do things they can do themselves, or repeatedly checks that everything will be okay
The more you become part of the safety plan, the easier it can be for your child to conclude, “I can only handle this when you’re here”
You’ll learn: How to stay warm and available while gradually helping your child experience, “I can do this — even when Mom or Dad isn’t doing it for me.”

Suzanne was looking for support with how to stop yelling AND with her son who has big emotions and often says "No!" to any requests for cooperation. She was looking for help in getting her child to listen and cooperate!
Ibuken needed support on helping her sons process overwhelming feelings and how to show up in a way that doesn't punish or threaten for misbehavior, but instead builds a closer bond with the child so that they WANT to behave!
Lauren was looking for support with relating to her inner critic and feelings of shame and rejection sensitivity dysphoria as an ADHD mom. She knew self-compassion was an antidote to shame but didn't know how to apply it consistently to support herself in the heat of the moment!
Michele reached out for support on supporting her dysregulated son who has some sensory processing challenges. We talked about how to incorporate a sensory diet in his daily routine and Michele was able to see immediate results and improvements!
Barbara reach out for support with transitions with her Neurodiverse son, who has a hard time going to school and moving from one setting to the next. We incorporated playfulness and a laughter in the transition process and Barbara reports that things are much smoother than they were.

Frequently Asked Questions
Possibly.
Anxiety does not always look like fear. For some children, worry can show up through avoidance, control, perfectionism, dependence, physical complaints, or big behavior.
We will help you look at the pattern beneath the behavior without assuming every difficult behavior is anxiety.
This course works on the parent side of the pattern.
It is designed to sit alongside appropriate professional care — never replace it.
You’ll also receive communication tools that can help you coordinate with the professionals supporting your child.
You cannot control another adult’s response.
But you can begin changing your own side of the pattern and becoming more consistent in how you respond.
We’ll also talk about communicating with partners and caregivers so you’re not carrying this alone.
No.
The underlying principles apply across childhood and adolescence, but the way you implement them needs to change with age.
A teenager needs more collaboration, autonomy, and privacy than a seven-year-old.
The goal is not younger-child scripts for older kids.
Some families have more than one thing happening.
The ideas in this course may still be relevant to the anxiety patterns surrounding those needs, but this program does not claim to treat those diagnoses.
Some children need diagnosis-specific or clinical care in addition to parent education.
The class starts on Monday, September 14th, and classes will be on Thursdays at 10am CT/11am ET for 90 minutes per week.
Some resistance or increased distress can happen when a familiar pattern begins changing.
That is one reason Week 5 focuses specifically on pushback, setbacks, and next steps.
A safety concern, crisis, or situation beyond the scope of parent education should be addressed with an appropriate professional.
Sessions are recorded.
You can watch the replay and continue with the process. You have lifetime access to all recordings.
This is not designed to give you another giant parenting to-do list.
You are already spending enormous amounts of energy on:
the bedtime
the school morning
the reassurance
the negotiations
the canceled plans
deciding whether to push or protect
The goal is to help you use that energy differently — with a clearer plan.
$497 one time or 3 payments of $167.

Your kids' relationship to anxiety starts changing the moment you do.
Let's get started.
